You may think that weight loss seems to take forever. It seems to start off with great plans, but waivers as time goes on to the point of losing motivation and wanting to give up. Keep a record of your progress. Write things down, such as caloric intake, foods you ingest and beverages you choose. Keep a regular journal that has records of your weight, preferably measured by the week. List all the foods you eat on a daily basis in a food diary in your journal. When you have a record of what you are eating, you will be more mindful about choosing healthier options for your meals.
You put yourself in a position to make unwise food choices when you allow yourself to go hungry. Don't make the mistake of falling into this trap. Set aside one day each week to prepare your snacks and meals in advance. Bring some of those snacks with you wherever you go. Start bringing your lunches from home. Not only will this help your waistline, it will be helpful for your wallet too.
It is very important to eat healthy and exercise. It is very important to exercise at least three days out of the week. If this has been where you have failed in the past, plan instead to incorporate exercise into things you already enjoy. Ask your friends to schedule a weekly walk or two with you. Throw away any unhealthy food that is found in your cupboards. You cannot eat food that you do not have, so be sure to keep only healthy foods in your pantry that will help you remain slim. If you make it difficult to get your hands on the high calorie junk food, it will be far less appealing and you will not eat as much of it.
Consider having a friend along with you on your journey, even though it is up to you in the end. Your friends can encourage you when you feel like you have hit rock bottom and just can't go any further. Call on a friend when you need some motivation and it will help you reach your goals.
